SIP setup

8x8 technically supports BYOD SIP but hides the credentials behind a support ticket. Your admin portal will NOT show a 'copy credentials' button; you have to explicitly ask.

Plan: X2 plan and above. BYOD requires a support ticket to enable per-tenant.
Why the call is required

8x8 does not expose SIP credentials in the self-service admin portal. You must open a ticket or call 1-888-898-8733.

What to do first

    Log in to the 8x8 Admin Console

    Go to sso.8x8.com and pick Admin Console.

    Note your tenant's PBX identifier

    In Home → Company Info, copy the 'PBX ID' or 'Account ID' value. You'll need this when you call support so they can find the right tenant.

    Open a ticket with the script below

    Support: 1-888-898-8733. Ask specifically for a BYOD SIP credential package. Reference your PBX ID. Support will email the Registration URL, SIP username, and SIP password within ~1 business day.

Say this when support picks up

  1. I'm on an X-series plan and I need to register a SIP extension from an external AI voice receptionist (SoloDial).
  2. Please open a BYOD request and provide the SIP registration URL for my tenant, one extension's SIP username and password, and the correct transport (UDP or TCP).
  3. Can you also confirm that my firewall allowlist on your side permits incoming registration from any public IP, or let me know which IP ranges I need to register from?
Watch out for
  • 8x8 charges per registered device on X4 and above, check with your account manager whether a BYOD extension counts as an extra device seat.
