RingCentral
SIP setup
RingCentral supports BYOD SIP on all business plans through the admin portal. You provision a dedicated 'Existing Phone' device entry for your SoloDial agent and RingCentral generates the credentials.

01
Sign in to the admin portal
Go to service.ringcentral.com and sign in with your Super Admin account. Standard Admins cannot provision devices.
RingCentral login page showing the admin role indicator -
02
Go to Phone System → Phones & Devices
In the left navigation, click Phone System, then Phones & Devices. You'll see a list of any existing devices (desk phones, softphones, etc.).
Phones & Devices list with 'Add Device' button circled -
03
Click Add Device → Existing Phone
Do NOT pick 'Rent Phone' or 'RingCentral Phone App'. Choose 'Existing Phone' (sometimes labeled 'BYOD / Existing Phone'). This is what unlocks the SIP credentials.
'Add Device' menu with 'Existing Phone' highlighted -
04
Pick or create the extension
Either assign the new BYOD device to an existing unassigned extension, or create a new one. We recommend a dedicated extension just for the AI (e.g. 'AI Receptionist, ext 700') so you can turn it off without affecting human lines.

05
Open the device's SIP settings
Once provisioned, click into the new device. There's a 'Setup and Provision' panel with a 'Manual Provision' tab. Click that, then 'Get Settings'.

06
Copy the credentials
You'll see: User Name (SIP username), Password (SIP password), Domain (registration URL, usually sip.ringcentral.com or sip<region>.ringcentral.com), Outbound Proxy (use this if Domain alone doesn't register). Paste these into the SoloDial SIP extension form.

- RingCentral rotates BYOD passwords when the device is deprovisioned and re-provisioned. Don't re-provision unless you're ready to update SoloDial at the same time.
- Some regional RingCentral resellers (AT&T Office@Hand, BT Cloud Phone, Avaya Cloud Office) use the same admin flow but a different hostname. Always copy the Domain field verbatim, do not assume sip.ringcentral.com.
